Memorial to the Imperial Yeomanry (later Lothian & Border Horse) listing the names of those who fell in the Second Boer War 1899-1902). Of red sandstone, the memorial is also dedicated to the Lothian & Border Horse which took part in the two World Wars
W Grant Stevenson, ARSA, RSA (1849-1919) was an Edinburgh sculptor who studied at Edinburgh College of Art. Executed large statues, busts etc. Works include three figures on the Scott Monument, Princes St., Edinburgh, Robert Burns (Washington) William Wallace (Aberdeen), Dandie Dinmont and Bailie Nicol Jarvie (Characters in Scott’s Guy Mannering and Rob Roy)
